Proverbs 27:9, John 15:13-14, & James 2:23

Ointment and perfume delight the heart, and the sweetness of a man’s friend gives delight by hearty counsel. Proverbs 27:9

I am so blessed with godly friends. It’s wonderful to see how God places certain people in my path each day who give me the advice and encouragement I need. Friendship with them is such a special treasure. However, friendship with God and His son, Jesus, is even better, and best of all.

Greater love has no one than this that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

You are my friends if you do what I command. John 15:14

And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. James 2:23

For through a friendship relationship with God and Jesus, not only do we gain everlasting life, but we have them with us at all times and in all places. God’s Word, the Bible, is our daily bread, our encouragement whenever and wherever we are. Take the time to read and learn from it each day. Nurture and be thankful for that friendship, just as we are thankful for the people God has placed in our lives as friends.
